I James Jordan being of sound mind and disposing memory and well knowing
that by the course of nature that I must sooner or later die and wishing
while in life to make this my last will.
item 1. I wish at my death to be buried in common decent style according
to my circumstances in life.
item 2. I wish my youngest children by my present wife (towit), Martha
Jane and also one in expectancy not yet born to be raised up and
educated out of my effects as my elder set of children that I had by my
first wife have been.
item 3. I wish out of my effects if I should die before my youngest set
of children are grownup that a sufficiency to give them an education as
set forth in the second item as aforesaid to be applied for that
purpose.
item 4. I wish all effects I have left after educating my youngest
children as aforesaid divided equally between my elder children and my
present wife to have an equal share with them. And it is my wish that
my two youngest daughters (towit) Elizabeth R. Harper now the wife of
John Harper formerly Elizabeth Jordan and A. E. Iverson, the wife of
V.B.. Iverson (this should be B.V.) formerly A. E. Jordan if they or
either of them should die without children or child that what effects
they or either of them receive from my estate should return and be
equally divided amongst their brothers and sisters the younger children
included and also my present wife included with them.
item 5. It is my wish that the portion of my estate that maybe coming
to my daughter J.B.M. Knight and her children and not be subject to the
debts or control by sale or otherwise of the said Wm. F. Knight for
other than the use of the family by the consent of the said J. D.
Jordan.
item 6. I do hereby appoint my son J.C. Jordan and my wife present wife
Lucinda Jordan my executors to carry out this my last will and
testament.
