Sherrod B. SHEHEE & Thomas G. SHEHEE - Pioneer Settlers

Sherrod B. SHEHEE & Thomas G. SHEHEE were sons of Daniel Shehee and Allafair Greene Shehee. Daniel Shehee was born in Maryland in 1754 and died in Washington County, Ga. in 1817. He fought in the Revolutionary War from Maryland. His brother or cousin, John Conner Shehee, also fought in the Revolutionary War and settled in Lincoln County Ga.

Sherrod B. Shehee and Thomas G. Shehee were early settlers of Pike County Ga. According to The History of Pike County by Lizzie R. Mitchell: Sherrod Shehee blazed the trail from Barnesville to Zebulon Ga. Thomas Shehee was one of the founders of Zebulon Academy and was on a list of Pike County Inferior Court Judges. They both helped to hold the first election in 1822.

The History of Lamar County Ga (Lamar County was formed in 1920 from parts of Pike and Monroe) states that John R. Jenkins and S. B. Shehee had plantations north of the town. Also it states that early settlers in the Barnesville District Thomas Shehee, Sherrod Shehee and John Mays helped to organize Pike County.
