Searching for information on HUGH and RHODY HAMIL. They were in the 1850 Pike Co., GA census. Then their estate settlements are found in court records in Spalding Co., GA upon HUGH HAMIL's death in 1855 and RHODA HAMIL's death in 1859. Therefore I assume that in 1850 they were living in the portion on Pike Co. that became Spalding Co. in 1852. In the 1850 census they were in District 68. Can anyone help me to determine the location of District 68 in Pike Co. and then in what part of Spalding Co. it was after 1852? Thanks for any help.

I am looking for the first name of the wife of Jesse KIRK, he was born in 1762 and was the son of Stephen KIRK of Chester County SC. I don not know when Jesse Kirk came to pike coounty. The only thing I do know is tha the died in 1834 in Zebulon,GA in PIKE county. I am researching the Reeves family of Pike Co., GA. My great-great-grandfather was John Clay Reeves who married Catherine Johnson in Pike Co., GA, in 1865. He was born in 1842 and died in 1911 in Polk Co., GA. Catherine was born in 1835 and died in 1910. John Clay was son of Elisha Reeves and Rebecca Mitchell. Catherine's parents are unknown, but family tradition holds that her father was born in Wales, jumped ship in America, and changed his name from Hayes to Johnson to escape prosecution by the Royal British Navy, of which he was then a member. John Clay and Catherine were in Sumter Co., GA, in 1870; Fulton Co., GA, in 1880; Troup Co., GA, by about 1882; and moved to Polk Co., GA, in the early 1900s. They had five children. I would like to contact descendants of any of John Clay's siblings as well. My permanent home address is 2485 Cameron Mill Road, LaGrange, GA 30240.

James William Marsh was born Jun. 14, 1822 in
Jones County, Georgia. James married Lucinda H.
