He father was well to do in that he was a land owner and had slaves. The Weldon's left Georgiafollowing their daughter and her husband to Alabama then to Mississsippi. Bothfamilies left Mississippi with Bethana, her husband and family going to Texas and herparents going to Ohio. It is said that Mr. Weldon bought land for his family and acreagefor each slave and gave them their freedom. I would appreciate hearing from any one whocould help me with my search for the truth about and the real names of my grandparents.

My gg grandfather, John Phillip Boland (or Philip Boling), lived in Washington County Tennessee from about 1795 to 1830. I cannot find family members, but a William Bowland sold property there in 1837 and listed his current residence as Pike County Georgia. Is there any record of him, perhaps with a different spelling of the last name (Bolan, Bolen, Bolin, Boland, Boling, Bowling, etc.)?
