Rev. Jones Bush, one of the oldest, most useful and most beloved citizens of Pike county, died at his home near Meansville Tuesday after an illness of about two weeks. The funeral and burial occurred at New Hope Congregational Church at Meansville of which he was a member. Mr. Bush was in Barnesville Wednesday during Gordon commencement, coming down to hear the address of Judge Emory Speer. At that time he was apparently in good health and fine spirits and was given cordial greeting by many of his friends in the city and community. The News-Gazette has ask one who is familiar with his life to prepare an article which we hope to publish next week giving a review of his life and character, His was a notable life and is deserving of a tribute which we trust the article will pay him. It has been promised for the News-Gazette for next week.
