Chancellorsville, Virginia, May 2, 1863. Captured at Petersburg, Virginia,
April 2, 1865. Released at Point Lookout, Maryland, June 5, 1865. Died in
Pike County, Georgia
COOK, Joseph M. (or Josiah M.) -- Private - March 4, 1862. Appointed 3rd
Sergeant in 1862; 2nd Sergeant in 1862. Roll dated August 31, 1864, last on
file, shows him sick in hospital. Captured near Petersburg, Virginia, March
25, 1865. Released at Point Lookout, Maryland, June 5, 1865. Died in Pike
County, Georgia in 1880.
HENDERSON, James W. -- Private - March 4, 1862. Captured at Cedar Creek,
Virginia, October 19, 1864. Paroled at Point Lookout, Maryland, and
transferred to Aiken's Landing, Virginia, for exchange, March 28, 1865. (Born
in Pike County, Georgia October 9, 1837.)
LIPSEY, Robert C. -- Private - March 4, 1862. Died at Camp Stephens, Georgia
April 19, 1862. (Born in Pike County, Georgia.)
MCKINLEY, John Daniel -- Private - March 10, 1864. Captured at Petersburg,
Virginia, April 2, 1865. Released at Point Lookout, Maryland, June 6, 1865.

MILLICAN, Green Berry -- Private - March 4, 1862. Wounded through right hip
and arm, left hip and hand, at Ellison's Mill, Virginia, June 26, 1862.
Admitted to hospital with bronchitis March 30, 1864, and furloughed for 60
days April 27, 1864. Roll dated August 31, 1864, last on file, shows him
present. No later record. (Born in Georgia October 17, 1834. Died near
Zebulon, Georgia February 17, 1909.)
MONTGOMERY, George W. -- Private - March 4, 1862. Captured at Waterloo,
Pennsylvania, July 5, 1863. Exchanged October 30, 1864. No later record.

MOORE, James M. Enlisted on 3/19/1864 as private in Company H, 44th GA
Infantry. Listed as wounded on 3/25/1865 at Fort Stedman VA. Captured on
4/3/1865, Richmond, VA. Released on 6/26/1865 USA Gnl Hospital, Point
Lookout, MD. His brother, Lewis T. Moore also served in this unit and also
was a POW at Point Lookout, MD.
MOORE, Lewis T. Enlisted on 5/2/1864 in Company "H", 44th GA Infantry. Listed
as POW on 4/2/1865, Petersburg, VA. Released 6/15/1865, Point Lookout, MD.
His brother, James M. Moore was also in this unit and was also a POW at Point
Lookout, MD.
Oxford, James Madison Clay -- Private - May 12, 1862. Wounded in left arm at
Ellison's Mill, Virginia, June 26, 1862. On detail as nurse in hospital April
15, 1863, to close of war. Paroled at Griffin, Georgia May 15, 1865. (Born in
Griffin, Georgia May 29, 1844. Died at Concord, Georgia November 23, 1895.)

HORN, Needham W., from Zebulon, enlisted in Griffin, Ga. July 8,1861, Company A.
Died of chronic dysentery in Zebulon, Ga on February 11,1862. (brother to Washington Poe Horn)
GARNER, John Preston from Pike County, enlisted in Capt. Bakers Company, Co.
A, 13 Infantry. (not dated, but should be 1861) He later transferred to the
Bartow Artillary, Co. A, 22nd Heavy Attty Bn. Muster records are through
April 1865 indicating he surrendered in April 1865 with Johnston's Army at
Greensboro, N.C. He is shown in the Pettigrew General Hospital No. 13,
Raleigh, N.C. from March 15 to April 7, 1865 suffering from "Abscessus." The
hospital record shows him from Zebulon, Pike Co. GA.

MOORE, Kingman Porter, from Pike County, enlisted first in the Barnesville Bules, Co. D, 3rd Battalion, GA Vol. Inf. After being sent home due to illness, he then joined Capt. Scogin's Battery of the Griffin Light Artillery.

SAMPLES, Jessie, from Pike County, enlisted in the Griffin (Scogins) Light Artillery in 1962. After the war, was on the Pike Co 1870 census and later in the
70's moved to TX where he drew a Confederate Pension, later moving to Oklahoma and
transfering the pension to OK. Married Elizabeth Jeffreys in Forsyth Co GA in 1845. Buried in Stevens Co OK. Descendant: Dick Samples
SHIVERS, James T. Son of Wilson Shivers,JR. This unit was also know as "Gibson's Battery" and the "Church
Bell Battery" due to its guns being cast from church bells from churches
throughout Georgia.
SEGRAVES, James D. Son of Hillsman Segraves, married Martha Ann Shivers,
daughter of Wilson Shivers, JR. Served in Gibson Battery, Georgia Light
Artillery. His brother Henry C. Segraves also served in the unit.
SEGRAVES, Henry C. Son of Hilsman Segraves, served in Gibson's Battery,
Georgia Light Artillery. His brother, James D. Segraves also served in this
unit.
BENNETT, Luther, buried in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Molena, shown on
the cemetery record as in the Bartow Atty.
GARNER, Richard Henry, from Pike County, enlisted in the Bartow Artillery,
Co. A, 22nd Heavy Artillery Bn. According to his 1908 pension application from Pasco Co.
FL, he enlisted at Savannah, GA in the Spring of 1863 in the Bartow Artillery, 22nd GA Battalion and surrendered at Greensboro, North Carolina."
Family says he and his father, John Preston Garner, were in the same unit and fought side by side.
SHIVERS, John Wilson B. 23 January 1845, D. 25 December 1925. Enlisted in Company
A, 13th Georgia Infantry on 7/8/1861. Wounded at Sharpsburg, MD 9/17/1862.
Wounded on 10/13/1864 at Cedar Creek, VA. Captured at Cedar Creek, VA on
10/13/1864. Took Oath of Allegiance and released from Point Lookout, MD, on
6/16/1865. Son of of Wilson Shivers, Jr.

PILKENTON, James H. C. from Pike County, enlisted in Co. A, GA 13 Infantry as
a private on July 8, 1861. He was killed in action at Whitemarsh Island, GA
on April 16, 1862.
HUNT, William Judkins, served as a Pvt., in Co., J., 13th., GA. Regiment. He
fell in battle at Cold Harbor, near Richmond, 27 Jun 1862. He was the eldest s/o Thomas Goodwin Hunt and Mary Ann Elizabeth Simmons of
Pike Co., GA and b/o James Cicero Hunt (md., Mary "Mollie" Rebecca LeSUEUR).
HORN, Washington Poe, from Zebulon, enlisted June 6,1863 in Griffin, Ga. by Captain Scogan in Captain Scogin's Battery.
Was killed in action at Decatur,Ga. October 26,1864. (brother to Needham W. Horn)

(BATTLE of OLUSTEE) , Florida in a seige by the enemy.
SHIVERS, Wilson Jr. B: Feb. 1821, Died, 16June1865. Married Elizabeth Moore
17 December1843. Appointed Sergeant. Died 5 weeks after returning home
from the war from dysentery contacted while serving in Florida.
