Directions: This cemetery is about one mile south of Hwy 18 on Dripping Rock Road. The cemetery is about 20 yards west of Dripping Road on private property. It is in fair condition and three of the graves are clearly marked. The Plantation was owned by Britain Brasselle,
a veteran of the Revolutionary War. His wife, Ladicy Davis Brasselle, is buried beside him. She was a cousin of Jefferson Davis. Their daughter, Bashaba, married Britain Alford. The plantation went to them when Britain Brasselle died.
There are possibly 6 to 8 graves in the Brasselle Cemetery. I only know who four of them are, as follows:
Brittian Brasselle
b. 1750
d. 9-1-1827
His wife -
Dicey Davis Brasselle
b. 1754
d. 1824
Brittian W. Alford
b. 2-4-1781
d. 2-10-1849
Barsheba Brasselle Alford
b. 2-10-1775
d. 11-19-1854
There is another grave that has a marker that I can't read. I think it
is a daughter of Brittian and Barsheba Alford.
