My own personal nemesis is my great great grandfather, William M. Tolbert. I finally found where he got married and who the parents of his wife were....that took over 25 years. His wife was in Clarke Co. GA and that is where he married her in 1869. But I cannot find who his parents were. There are a dozen theories out there put forth by people who never look at the dates....none of them are correct. All I know is from the census record...that his father was born in NC. All the Tolberts came to Georgia from NC...so no help there. I would love to hear from anyone with a Tolbert tie.
