so yeah, these arent "old" (unless you count the fact they are making ME feel old hehehe) but I wanted to share some pics of my daughter, who will be 14 in August

The first one is the one they took at the hospital, she was 16 hours old hehehe, posing already. The 2nd one was her winning photograph from the 1996 Atlanta's Most Photogenic Baby contest...she won for the toddler division (she was 3) What was cool about this was they brought the photographer in, and took the pics and thats all the judges saw....Manda didnt have to parade around in front of anyone. Not one iota of make up or hairspray on that child (and believe me, some of those kids looked like Jon Benet Ramsey) We got a free set of the picture we chose to enter (we could have bought the others, but I opted not to buy anything but the slides of them). She won a trophy and some gift certs....it was nerve wracking but fun. They had two dif contests, one was a public vote (she didnt win that one) where her picture was up at a Mall for a week, and the Judges vote (obviously they had good taste hehehe). The last two were taken Mothers Day weekend when I took her to get her first highlights.

*sigh* where has the time gone

well daughter, Two more years and a drivers license and you will be wondering where it all went, while you pace the floor from window to window waiting for her to get home....with one ear on the news listening for wrecks.
Boy am I glad that's in my past.

You went and got her highlights. Wow, how cool! What did Dad have to say?

I wanted to get my daughters ears pierced when she was a baby but my husband said NO!!!! He said that was something that should be her choice. Bah humbug!

Your daughter was a cutie at 3. Now she looks a lot like you from what I can see through the photos. Does she have your characteristics or her fathers? My daughter looks similar to me but acts 100% like her father. (this isn't necessarily a good thing!) I wish she would have gotten some of his darker coloring instead of my fair skin, blonde hair, & blue eyes. Blonde hair & blue eyes are great but why not a little pigmentation in the skin, not as easily sunburnt that way. dry.gif

thankfully she seems to be more like me than my Ex hubby lol (DONT get my mother started on him hehe). I Didnt ask him whether he liked it or not....he's not real sensitive to "girl stuff" so its better left not talked about.

My husband is fashion clueless but very opinionated. He tosses in his two cents worth, asked or not. He is finally learning that I'll do what ever I want fashion wise (within reason haha) and the surest way to get me to do something I'm iffy about is to tell me not to do it without a sensible reason. Like here resently, I went to just have the natural highlights erased at the salon. My sister in law is my cosmotologist and she decided I need a little pep. We ended up putting 4 colors in my hair. We did the main color (which is close to my natural color, sandy blonde) and the Highlights and Lowlights (light blonde and dark brown) then when that was done she thought it still needed something and so she put streaks of copper in it. Some of the copper turned a reddish color. Looks awesome! I like it, my husband, not so much. Oh well, build a bridge and get over it. tongue.gif
