Okay, here I go... closing my eyes and stepping off the curb.

This is my first attempt to "cross the big pond" I'm looking for any information on My Bottomley's from England. I have seen both Manchester and Stanleybridge.

Here is what little I know.

Robert Bottomley married Ann Kenworthy. They had at least 5 children: Thomas Kenworthy b Jan 1832; William b 02 Mar 1841; Ann b 1843; Mary; James; & Seth. I know that Thomas came to America before William, who came over in 1860. I have read an article that stated that Ann Kenworthy (mother) died in England before Robert came over.

I'm interested in finding birth dates for Robert and Ann, when they married, names of Parents, and when Ann died. Any information is more than I currently have and will be greatly appreciated.

Robert's parents were James Bottomley & Sarah Tetlow. No birthdates for them.

This is a huge help. I haven't done a lot of research on this line past William, just confirmed that Robert and Ann were indeed his parents (from death certificate). I had an interesting article sent to me on Thomas and Mary with a photo of Thomas. So like I said before, any help is more than I had. You helped more than I imagined. So once again, THANK YOU!

Yes I do get the U.S. returns on Ancestry.com. I do have another inquiry. This on is on Arthur and Ann (Field) Parson(s). Arthur was born 1802 in Lewes, , Sussex, England. He married Ann Field (b 1806 Sussex, England) 18 Sep 1827. They have at least one daughter Julia b 2 Oct 1846 in Sussex, England. They immigrated to America in 1854.

I must admit at this time the only thing that I know I can verify is that Ann & Arthur Parsons are Julia's parents and that they did immigrate in 1854. Sources are Julia's death cert and 1900 U.S. Census. A quick scan of my records didn't show where I got birth and marriage dates.

If you ever need any thing in the U.S. , just give me a shout. I'm not real good or fast but I'll sure try.

Oh, Julia married William Bottomley 26 July 1874 in Clinton county, Iowa.

I know my family come from over there but not sure when I do know the name has been changed from the name over there it is Niswonger for here but not sure if it is Niecwonger or Niewonger and I think it was around 1800's but any help would be great thanks.

I think it was the early 1793 and the name might be Nicewonger some say it is German. If this helps there is a coat of arms for the Niswongers. There was more then one coat of arms for the Niswongers.
