I have someone who is willing to take pictures on Find A Grave, but she needs to know how to get to Lodi Cemetery in Pike County, AR. She said she's been there before but it was a very long time ago. I suspect the cemetery may be older or abandoned because I've googled it and haven't found anything. If anyone might know where this cemetery is located, I'd be grateful for your help.

Nadine, have you put out the same query on the rootsweb list for Pike County? you get a faster response that way.

It might also go by another name, whats the name of the relative you have buried there?

Three suggestions:
1. Call the local funeral home (even if it is an old cemetery)
2. Call the local Historical Society or the local Library and see if a cemetery census has been compiled and if so, the directions are likely to be in the book.
3. Check the USGEN Web site for that county. They may have a map or directions somewhere on their site that would be helpful.

Have Fun and be safe.

I posted on genealogy.com's Arkansas website, findagrave's forums, but not on rootsweb. I'm heading over there now.

I have two relatives buried there...Thomas Fagan (1844-1887) and Catherine Fagan (1825-1868).

I checked the USGEN website and nothing. I'll check the library or historical society on Monday smile.gif

Thanks for the suggestions, both of you.

A DOT map for the county might help. I try to get one for any county I have to research in.....they usually have the cemeteries marked...and sometimes they even put a name on it..if they know one. You might be able to get one from the county itself...here you can pick one up from the tax assesors office, otherwise they can be order from the Dept. of Transportation at the state capitol. They used to be about $3.50...probably a bit more now, but well worth every single dime.

I posted this same question on AncestralSpace and someone knew someone who lives near the cemetery. He is going to take the pictures for me! dancing.gif

The DOT map is an excellent suggestion, though. I have a lot of family from NC and I know there are a lot of small family/church cemeteries there. Do the maps sometimes include those?
