Funeral Wednesday for R.K. Baldridge.
Funeral services for Rufus Baldridge, 68, of 550 Cliffwood Avenue, will be held at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Baker Funeral home with Rev. Robert L. Parker, past or of the St. Paul AME Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn.
Mr. Baldridge died Sunday morning at his home following a lingering illness. He had suffered a stroke three years ago.
The deceased was the son of John and Susie Baldridge and was born in Purdy, Tenn., July 4, 1876. He received his early education in the schools in Tennessee, later graduating from the Zanesville High school in the class of 1901. In 1904 he was married to Ida M. Pritchett, a classmate.
During his residence in Zanesville he served as steward, trustee and Sunday school Teacher in the St. Paul A.M.E. Church. He was a member of the church choir.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Cona McNabb of Columbus; one grandson, Ronald McNabb of Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Callie Lewis and Mrs. Arthur Phillips, both of Cleveland; and Mrs. Susie Hurst of Purdy, Tenn.; one son-in-aw, Wilbur McNabb of Columbus and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Odessa Williams of 713 Bates Street, and several nieces and nephews.
