My great-grandfather, James Lamar Gilbert, was born June, 1827, in Putnam County, Georgia. Evidently he appeared in Marengo County, Alabama, on July 19, 1848 and married my great-grandmother Rebecca Jane McClure Gilbert. We are trying to locate any birth information, i.e., parents, siblings, etc. Any leads are greatly appreciated. Thanks,
