Hi all

I'm looking for death dates on some of my family and burial locations in Kay County, OK. I have recieved a death certificate for Ralph E. MYERS stating that he was buried in Bramman. My assumption is that the rest are in the same cemetery or close by. Here is the list I'm looking for:

Ralph E MYERS b 19 Apr 1895 in OK d. 21 Sep 1974 in KS buried in Bramman
Emma Alma HARTMAN MYERS b 4 Feb 1871
Franklin A HARTMAN b 01 Jan 1857
Elizabeth SHELTON HARTMAN b 26 Dec 1861
Martha Melinda BARNETT SHELTON b 07 Mar 1839 d 21 May 1917
John E. MYERS b 10 Mar 1868
Lottie B HOUGLAN MYERS b 04 Dec 1874

These are direct lines. My research is still fairly new so I haven't branched out a lot as yet.

Any help will be appreciated. pray.gif

There is Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness volunteer for Kay Co., OK that does cemetery photos. Go to this site http://www.raogk.org, read thru the FAQ's for requesters, and then contact the volunteer. She also does public records lookups so could be very helpful. smile.gif

Thanks Bonnie,

I hadn't heard of this site. I'd posted several times on the Kay County rootsweb site with not much help.

My son-in-law's family is Hartman from Beckham County. Any chance there is a connection? The family names are Luther, Marshall, Roy.

Anything's possible, however the names do not ring a bell. My Hartman's migration is traced as follows:

Elkana Hartman was born in Tennessee 10 Dec 1834. In 1850 he is in DeKalb county, Alabama. between 1860 & 1870 he moved to Sherrill, Texas, Missouri. Then in 1900 he is found in Goldsberry, Howell, Missouri where he died in 1917. His son Franklin Hartman moved to Kay county, Oklahoma about 1894 (He sold his farm in Missouri on 28 Oct 1893) Emma, one of his daughters, married Ralph Ernest Myers and they lived in Kay county. Ralph moved to Kansas sometime after Emma's death.

I haven't brached out a lot on this side of the family so as I said anything is possible. unsure.gif

I am currently adding names to Find A Grave.

http://www.findagrave.com/

I'm adding pictures of my family stones that I took as well. The two cemeteries that I visited were Braman and Plainview. Braman is near the town of Braman, OK and Plainview is listed as Newkirk but is really closer to Braman. There use to be a town named Dilworth near the cemetery.
