DEATH OF A SEA CAPTAIN____ We regret to announce that Captain Thomas Nellson Cooksey died of pneumonia, yesterday afternoon, at this residence on Spruce Street. He was born in Baltimore in 1836, and entered the mercantile serivce in early youth, commanded the barque, Roanoke, then sailing between Philadelphia and Laguayra at the age of 24 years. This command he held until appointed a few years since to the Captaincy of the Star of the Union, one of Steamers of the Philadelphia and Southern Mail Steamship Company. At the time of the loss of that ill fated steamer Captain Cooksey was lying on a bed of sicknes at his home in this city. Captain Cooksey was an able and efficient seaman, and greatly beloved by all who knew him. His loss will be severly felt by a large circle of friends, who appreciated his virtures and admired his noble character.

His funeral will take place from No. 121 Preston Street. (Bolton Terrace) on Monday afternoon, March 1st, at three O'clock. His friends and those of the family are invited to attend.
